Day 87, 88, 89 – Easter Weekend – End of Month 3 – Weigh In and Pictures!

Wow. Can’t believe tomorrow is the first day of April! Easter weekend and I must say – I thought that I would be a lot worse than I have been!!! I have ate pretty good this weekend, worked out every day and feel great! I didn’t log my food as closely, but I did stay within calorie limits each day…for the most part. 🙂 I bought new running shoes Friday night…ran in them for 25 minutes…and went on a full run last night – 6 miles! I haven’t ran that long outside in I don’t know how long…but I cruised and felt great. My leg has been bothering me lately during runs and I think it was because the shoes I had were wearing out. The cushion wasn’t as plush and as soon as I put these new one on – WOW – I must say – they feel awesome and I feel awesome!

Anyways, real point of this post..and why most of you are probably reading is to get an update on my pictures and measurements. SO here we go…

March was a a bit more challenging. I wasn’t as strict with my diet so I didn’t lose as much as I probably could have. If you remember, my goal was to be 140 pounds by today. Well, while I did not hit 140.0 exactly, I did weigh-in this morning at….

140.8!!!!! So, I will take it! Considering I was not as strict with my eating and started incorporating weights into my workout (i.e. muscle weighs more than fat), I am MORE than happy with this number! 🙂 That’s only 5.8 pounds away from my June goal of 135.0 so I am way ahead of track.

Now onto measurements! From last month, I didn’t lose THAT much, but I did still lose some in certain areas! From the end of February to the end of March measurements were:

Neck: 12.5 in/31.8 cm (lost .5 inches since last month/.5 inches total)
Biceps: 11.0 in/27.9 cm (no difference since last month/.5 inches total)
Bust: 34 in/86.4 cm (lost 1 inch since last month/3.5 inches total)
Waist: 29 in/73.7 cm (lost 1 inch since last month/6 inches total)
Hips: 37.5 in/95.3 cm (lost 1 inch since last month/4 inches total)
Thighs: 21 in/53.3 cm (no difference since last month/2 inches total)

Day 86 – Thursday, March 28, 2013

Today was an amazing day. I booked my ticket to INDIA! That’s right – from July 7 – 21, 2013, I will be traveling to a far away land with some of my best friends for another best friend’s wedding. CAN. NOT. WAIT! Part of our vacation will be spent in the beach party town Goa which means I have even more reason to stick to it and GET IN SHAPE. I’m sure by July I will be at an image/weight that I am extremely happy with, but it’s still motivation to keep on going! Woot woot tut tut!

This leads to my next point – I went to the gym at 9:15 p.m. tonight. It was hard, trust me…especially when my leg is hurting from my shoes (time to get new ones). But, I pushed through it, did a little cardio and weights, and burned 325 calories. Not my best workout, but hey, it’s better than no workout at all, right? Anyways, time to hit the sac! Food intake was:

242 calories – Chocolate protein pancakes
300 calories – Whole Foods Salad Bar (estimate – lots of veggies)
100 calories – 4 Whole Foods Chocolate/Almond Biscotti
200 calories – 2 small cookies and a lemon scone from Whole Foods (estimate)
80 calories – 1 medium fuji apple
100 calories – 1 TBSP peanut butter
100 calories – 1/2 cup brown rice
170 calories – 4 oz salmon w/ 1/4 tsp olive oil
40 calories – steamed cauliflower
160 calories – Chocolate Peanut Butter Protein Bar

Total caloric intake = 1,492 calories (1,535 allowed – right on the edge!)

Day 85 – Wednesday, March 27, 2013

Another great day, although now that I’m laying in bed, my legs are starting to KILL me. I think it’s a combo between yesterday’s leg workout and today’s 2 x day workout. Yes, I worked out on lunch with my coworker Sarah (elliptical, bike, stairmaster – burned 525 calories) AND with Annie after work (stairmaster, biceps, triceps, chest – burned 360 calories). I have a feeling I’m going to be regretting it tomorrow so I’m foreseeing a very easy day at the gym. Ha! That said – I’m pooped and heading to bed, but needed to do my daily thangggg, yo! Here we go:

171 calories – 1 cup cooked oatmeal (1/2 cup dry) w/ 1/4 cup blueberries
50 calories – Milk in coffee
200 calories – 1 TBSP peanut butter w/ 1 medium banana
106 calories – 4 oz mahi mahi w/ 1/4 tsp olive oil
100 calories – 1 large red grapefruit
75 calories – 5 oz. steamed broccoli and cauliflower
170 calories – Coconut cashew protein bar
120 calories – 1 cup of cheerios w/ 1/2 cup almond milk
170 calories – 4 oz salmon w/ 1/4 tsp olive oil
25 calories – 12 asparagus spears
100 calories – 1/2 cup brown rice
160 calories – 16 dark chocolate chips w/ 16 almonds

Total caloric intake = 1,447 calories (2,085 calories allowed)

Day 84 – Tuesday, March 26, 2013

You know when you wake up and you know it’s going to be a great day? Today was one of those days. I had an awesome day at work (for no apparent reason – just did), followed by a great workout with Annie. We did some interval cardio on the treadmill for 35 minutes, followed by an hour of cardio/weights. We felt kind of silly doing jumping jacks in between or leg presses, lunges, squats, butt blasters, etc., but I’ll tell you what – they get your heart rate up and keep you burning more calories while working those muscles. I cooled down with a row and ended up burning 626 calories total. Boo ya! I’m really cracking down this week because not only do I have my FINAL weigh-in on Friday for Biggest Loser at work, but I also have to report to everyone on Sunday my weight/measurements. Plus, pigging out on Easter is a given. 🙂 Food intake for the day was:

191 calories – Bowl of oatmeal w/ 1/2 cup blueberries
100 calories – 1 large red grapefruit
83 calories – 5 oz steamed broccoli, 5 oz steamed cauliflower
107 calories – 1 cup fresh mango
90 calories – 1/2 cup cottage cheese

Day 83 – Monday, March 25, 2013

Woke up today – back at it. Last week and still need to try and hit my goal. I’ve started looking at March as kind of a “wash month” because I slipped up a lot and while I didn’t gain, I have barely lost. I also might be starting to plateau so beginning next week, the first of April, I’m really going to ramp up my entire routine – cardio AND weight lifting. Gotta get this body bikini ready! 🙂 Went to the gym on lunch – cardio only – intervals on both the treadmill and stairmaster. Worked it for 45 minutes, burned 465 calories and ate the following:

75 calories – 3/4’s of a large fuji apple (bruised so didn’t eat a good portion of it)
100 calories – 1 TBSP fresh ground peanut butter
30 calories – 1/4 cup milk in coffee
90 calories – 1/2 cup cottage cheese
50 calories – 3 oz. lettuce w/ 1 TBSP white balsamic, tomatoes, cucumber
105 calories – lentil salad
64 calories – 1 small grapefruit
90 calories – 1 small banana
75 calories – 1 cup of spaghetti squash w/ butter and parmesan cheese
120 calories – 1 cup of cheerios w/ 1/2 cup almond milk
80 calories – 16 dark chocolate chips
40 calories – 1 cup of almond milk

Total caloric intake = 1,009 calories (1,665 allowed)

Day 81 and 82 – Weekends, You Kill Me!

The title says it all. Weekends have been KILLING me. Now that I am getting to a weight/image that I am extremely happy with, I am finding myself relaxing more often than usual, drinking, eating out, etc. This is fine, if I was at the end of my journey and in maintenance mode, but I’m not there yet. So yes, that is why I am being hard on myself about this. 🙂

Saturday I did not do too bad eating wise. In fact, I only had chocolate protein pancakes in the morning. I didn’t get a workout in because I slept in, was running around like crazy before meeting my friend at 5 for drinks, and then met my Aunt and Uncle for dinner at 9. That was the only other time I ate so food wise (soup, scallops, asparagus and a few bites of mashed potatoes), I think I was okay. But I did have a few martinis, which probably set my calorie intake WAYYY over for the day. Ah well.

Sunday I woke up, went for a 45 minute run (burned 437 calories) and then went and met my Aunt and Uncle for lunch. I had a chorizo egg white omelette….wiiiithhhh truffle fries. I can’t go to Rockit and NOT get truffle fries (I have a truffle addiction). ha! Then I met Francois at the airport and we went to Hoffbrau Haus Chicago and I had 2 small beers and some cheese/crackers and a pretzel. I then went and met Annie for church and the gym, where I worked out for a second time, burning 563 calories (38% of them being from fat – GREAT!). That gave me a total of 1,000 burned for the day…so hopefully it evens out the weekend…haha. I went home, had some steakhouse left overs (2 scallops, a little piece of lobster and steak, potatoes, and asparagus) and passed out.

Day 80 – Friday, March 22, 2013

99 days to reach my goal! We’re out of the 100’s, folks! Wow! Can’t believe it has been 80 DAYS that I’ve been on my new and improved me transformation! Crazy how fast time flies. 80 days and 16 pounds lighter – I feel great! Can’t wait to keep going and see where I get to by June 30th!

I went to the gym right before swimming with Ms. Annie and burned 326 calories. During swimming class, we practiced breaststroke again which O.M.G. so hard and confusing! I’ll get it one day, but I do not prefer it, that’s for sure! Given that we practiced this difficult stroke, I didn’t get such a vigorous workout as I normally do so I think I only burned about 200 calories, bringing my total for the day to 526.

After swimming, Cellie and I went to State Restaurant/Bar, where I had a veggie burner (omitted most of the bun), veggies and a few bites of truffle mac and cheese (mmmm!). I also had 2 large Weissbiers, my weakness. So needless to say, I kind of stopped counting calories at that point…

242 calories – Chocolate banana protein pancakes (see recipe below)
90 calories – 1/2 cup cottage cheese
64 calories – 1 small grapefruit
110 calories – 1 cup 1% milk
80 calories – 3 oz. tilapia w/ 1/4 tsp olive oil, salt, pepper
43 calories – 6 oz. cauliflower
120 calories – 6 oz. black grapes
209 calories – 1 large fuji apple w/ 1 TBSP peanut butter
105 calories – Lentil salad
120 calories – 8 cashews with 8 dark chocolate chips
? – Veggie burger, veggies, weissbier, truffle mac and cheese

Total caloric intake = 1,183 before dinner…(1,726 calories allowed for the day) I know I went over…
